An architecture
built for this ground.
An architecture practice rooted in Nigerian culture, building spaces that carry their climate, their craft, and their story.
We design with laterite, timber, light, and context — the materials of this place, the rhythm of its life.
New Culture Designs is an indigenous Nigerian practice offering architectural design, interior design, design-build, facilities management, and property development. We work across cultural, institutional, residential, and corporate briefs — and we build the way we draw: with close attention to ground, climate, and craft.

The practice descends from the work of Demas Nwoko — master builder, artist, and one of the foremost figures of African modernism, whose Dominican Chapel in Ibadan and New Culture Studios have defined a Nigerian architectural language of earth, craft, and ceremony for more than five decades.
Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre, Benin City

A civic cultural landmark delivered for the Edo State Government, including the building's public forecourt and gathering plaza. Designed by master architect Demas Nwoko with Anyibofu Ugbodaga, the current phase involves preparation for completion and restoration. The design draws on the practice's long-standing engagement with Nigerian cultural and heritage architecture, translating it into a contemporary civic venue for public gathering and ceremony.
